connecting my CB
« on: Jan 06, 2005, 11:48:30 PM »
I'm wanting to wire it in this weekend.  I dont have the antenna yet, but i have a PA, so i want to hook it up a little more permanently than before.  is there an easy way to do it?, just under the dash or something?  I am going to mount the CB to the tranny tunnel, on the passenger side

:yesnod: BD you should be able to hook that thing up in your sleep  Find a hot fuse under the dash  and hook the red wire to it and take the black to ground and of corse the antenna :smack:

Thansk fatboy.  I thought I would be able to figure it out, but I wanted to check and make sure.  No sense in tearing more apart than I have too.

I've used it before with justthe PA, i took it out when I was plannin on selling my rig.  I just havent put it back in yet.  I want to permanently mount it, I was using a cigarette lighter plug before, and the cb just sat on the seat.

I've keyed up w/o an antenna b4...wouldn't do it long term, but for a quick testing it's ok to do...DON'T DO IT IF YOU HAVE POWER(linear).

:dunno: an empty one.  I am horrible with electricity, I really need to get a book on it, just to learn the rudimentary stuff.  I wouldnt trust myself to wire up some off road lights right now :smack: wires are something I have never been good at

:nope:  Trust me, if there is a way to get hurt, or shocked or, have something break in a wierd, unusual way, I find it.  I swear its a curse.  Example, my distributor had a pinhole in the top.  While adjusting timing, I put my hand over the dizzy, and got shocked.  The kicker was, I was leaning against the truck, had my elbow on the intake manifold, and my cell phne up to my ear, talking to my mechanic grandpa.  I shocked my hand, it went up my arm, to my other elbow, and my ear, and my stomach right above my belly button
