I swaped over a 1983 harness COMPLETE into my 1980 4wd truck I have the old 1980 harness still here in my garage. I am trying to get my heater to work and I cant.
I have tried everything I know to do i have taken the old ac heater harness from the 1980 harness and tried to figure out where all the unhooked parts are  I have a FSM for a 1980 truck and i also have the wiring diagrams for a 1983 truck there should be to much diffrence IF ANY in the two years as for the HEATER A/C stuff.     :help:      :turtle: :turtle: :turtle:

the 80 used a fan control switch that was straight up and down, the 83 used a rotary style knob
just remember the fan is almost certainly the same fan so THAT plug should be the same

the only wires you need to worry about are the wires from the lo-med-hi switch to the fan. everything else is manual activation

i'll look tomorrow and see but i'd be willing to bet the wires to the fan control switches are the same color code

yes but where do the hook to on the main harness

DO I NEED THE SEPERATE AC/HEATER HARNESS FROM THE 80 HARNESS ?

and also what is this wire on the back side of the heater box that is on the passenger side almost going out to the engine bay area  it is shaped like a T

update:

I have come to the conclusion I am going to have someone (TOYOTA TECH)  look at it they charge 60 bucks to look at it anf then if they can fix it that 60 goes to the price of the repair  :turtle: :turtle: :turtle:

some times it just takes a PRO to work on something

and thats something I am not a PRO
