We buy it in large quantities.  We just bought some heavy steel 2 pieces 30x30x2" thick weighing in at #840 and costing $430 (thats with the flame cut charge), and 2 pieces 3/4" thick 6x4 angle 20' long for about $500.  All from PDM, works out to about 50-55 cents a pound.  The trick is to never buy cut lengths, shop around, and buy in quantity.  We use PDM, Guntert, Tube Service, and when we feel like getting ripped off State Steel.

I hear you, its not my money, and I don't make those decisions.  If we need something yesterday, and state has it, then we buy it.

RIP KYOTA

You can go through life being scared of the possible, or you can have a little fun and tease the inevitable.

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!
