83 yota 22r no spark

driving down the road coming to a stop truck stalls wont start checked if getting fuel and it is checked coil for spark nothing coil tested good thought it was module changed it out to two different ones nothing changed out distributer from a running truck still nothing its tickin me off any suggestions ??

take the wire from the coil to the distributor, unplug it from the distributor and see if you have a spark there. then start pulling spark plug wires and check those.

already did all that no spark off coil i even did the gm set up still nothing and even changed out the dist and still nothing coil has power with key on and while starting but its like the dist is retarded

could be ignition or wiring going to distrubitor or possible just the distrubitor?

well its got me i took the dis out of my truck that is running and tryed that and nothing it acts as if theres no signal coming from dist or something is killing the signal but i dont know what

did you check the fuses connections and ya... but ya in my buddies old 91 2wd converted to 4x4 we had the same problems we figured out that it was the wiring from the alt to the dist to the bott but that was re you are carburated right?

yes carbed and fuse good i have all my power to coil and ect but nothing coming from dist to cause spark so yeah its stumped me

ya used to have the same problem we dont know how we fixed it we just ended taking everything apart on the driver side of the truck checking all the connections put it together and somehow it fixed it self but now you got an excuse to put a 22re in your toy

definately a good up grade i am getting ready to put the finishing touches on my 82 22re but ya the only thing i could thing of is it haveing to do with the wiring

same thing happened to my 81, died, no spark, dizzy gear ate cam gear that drives it, just a thought, but maybe pull valve cover and check that?

ya which aint to bad to change i would check that first before cutting into the wiring

i dont know everyting in my yard is toyota from first gen 22re to 85 straight axel 22re to 3rd gen 22re

I bet its the ignitor (sits right under the coil) same thing happened to me. Brand new there crazy expensive like $300. I found a used one and its been working ever since. From what I have read its a very common problem.

funny thing is is this took that out of my 81 that is running and put everything from dist to coil in and still nothing fuse is good and all so idk
