I used the stock F150 shackle as the double and a 6" as my leaf shackle. It works pretty good. I think you can use the Chevy shackles the same way. Only company I know of that sold a double shackle was Downey.
how good does this setup work? pro? cons?
On a truck they like to unload when you drive on the street making it unstable
same, little iffy going down hill.....
i've been running dual shackles and 63's on my truck for years. was a daily driver up til about 2 years ago. never had any problems with the shackles "unloading". its not unstable at all. its actually very stable with or withough a loaded down bed. thanks for posting up a pick of my truck jrock. driven lots of trails, up hill, down hill to the point where i was dragging the front bumper it was so steep and never had any problems with it. know lots of people who run them on dd's and never heard anyone say the "unload" or be "unstable". just my .
thanx i appreciate the input prolly fixing to try it out on my rig
same here, i originally only did dual shackle cause I was lazy, but it has been working fine for me. I dont even have bumstops that stop it on the frame, and it doesnt make any noise? Also, I have dragged the nose of the truck down stuff, with no unloading at all.
the tera flex ones are sketchy..they unload when u jump speed bumps and lift up when u hit corners hard.kinda sketch..but going that fast is sketch too..so i guess it goes hand in hand
