The Lone Star Toyota Jamboree (held at Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area, 5 miles north of Gilmer, Texas) is one of the largest gatherings of Toyota off-road enthusiasts and vendors held in the Texas area. Vehicles range from Land Cruisers of all types, Tacomas, FJ Cruisers, 4Runners and Tundras as well as a variety of other Toyota off-road vehicles. This non-profit, Toyota Land Cruisers Association (TLCA) sanctioned event is organized by the Toyota Trail Riders for the purpose of raising funds for the Texas Motorized Trails Coalition (TMTC).

I went to this event with 79coyotefrg last year, we had a blast, got to meet Mr. Marlin, etc. The park is pretty big, it was rainy but the dirt isn't too slippery when wet, easy to walk on anyway. They had a band up at the pavillion on Saturday, the wind was kinda cold but that's what beer is for right? There were 384 people in the park, 182 Toyota's in the park (i saw two really mangled Heeps but you could hardly tell the make). Totally awesome going to an event and only seeing Toyota's.

I rode with Glen, so my truck was and is in Ill-Annoys...but i will soon be moving to Arkansas, and i WILL have my truck at this Lonestar Jamboree. It's an 84 Xtracab 4x4, but i'm swapping out the wiring harness so i can have EFI.

The red arrow points to Glen's blue 79 1st gen, you can sorta make out the big Marlin sticker on the red-dust-covered hood. I'm the guy standing over by the tree, blue arrow. I'd like to point out that only about 1/3 of the trucks showed up for the group picture, that means there were three times this many Toyota's in the park that weekend.

This year i plan on bringing my plane and taking aerial photographs of the event, but we'll see how it goes.
