so i bought a welded 3rd member from a buddy and it worked fine in his truck i threw it in mine and now i get a vibration when im going 35 or above it feels like its coming from my drive line but in not 100% sure. any ideas of how to get rid of it or should i just throw that 3rd out and replace it?

maybe ur drive line aint in the right spline part to keep it balanced.. idk if it needs to be in the right spline but that might be it..or just the pinion bearing is shot..idk hard to say without seeing it

Its your drive line did you allow it to fully slip out with the removal of your old 3rd ? had the same prob once its an easy fix and common error if not paying attention

Does it vibrate, when you hubs are unlocked and T-case is in 2WD  ?  Your drive line should not be spinning at this point !  Work back from there, easy troubleshoot.

velasco

yeah I let it fully slip out. and it's my rear driveline n the front

yeah, your DS is now no longer balanced.  They balance the DS's with splines in a certain way.  The u-joints also have to be lined up to each other.

probably didnt phase your joints when you put the driveline back in..

yep, line up the two "ears"  that hold the u-joint from the slip side to the shaft side and you should be good to go! . . . . . or so i think!
