Will a 1991 w56 and t-case work in 1985 truck
« on: Dec 30, 2002, 11:28:57 AM »
I finally found a w56 w/tcase included for a good price. It is out of a 91 pickup.  Everything looks the same as early year w56's so it should bolt right in? Does anyone know for sure. Don't want to do all that work for nothing.
Happy New Year

85 4runner. Nothing Special...Gears, Lockers, Tires and Suspension. Oh yeah and I actually know how to work on and drive it. 4 wheeling is becoming to popular...If you're some wanna be smuck stay on the pavement.

The W56 was used on U.S. Toyotas through 1995.  But is still used on current model 2003 Hiluxs.  Toyota puts it behind the 3RZ 2.7 motor.   In fact, they also still make the R151F.  They use that in the Land Cruiser and in the Hilux behind their turbo diesel.   The things we Americans miss out on!
