i know... prob a real stupid question lol...

I need to bend my 4wd shifter down and over..  but i cant get the thing apart... it seems the part that has threads on it is bonded with rubber? to the actual shifter, and that has the spring, clip, big ball socket...... anyone remove these before?  :dunno:

i will prob just heat it with the torch and deal with the smell lol

The knob unscrews. There is a c clip you can remove to get it out of the t case. There are no stupid questions. Just questions with simple answers.

I just had a handle that would NOT come off. I had to use channel locks on it and al my strength. I was a 2 vein popper on the forehead for sure but it finally broke loose.

Do you add heat or just go for it? Why are you guys bending shifters? Why not just flip them around?

ya you can take off the c clip on the bottom and leave the 4 bolts atached to the t-case .. It will slide rite out

Cheesemaker

Just take it to work and bend it in a press.  That way your not melting the rubber.
