I bought some used cross over steering the guy thought it was made by Sky but couldnt remember for sure. I clean it all up and couldnt find any markings on it. I was just wondering if they're was a way to identify what brand it is.I t looks like Sky's compared to the pics on there site but I don't know how old the steering arms are. Just wondering :headscratch:

which is better cast or billet? Just by looking at all the brands they look like Sky. It doesnt really matter I was just wondering if anyone could identify what brand they are. I paid $150 for the complete kit. The tre's are a little less than disireable though.

billet is way better! it is machined from solid stock and marlins hysteer arms are BEEF

sky wud be billet, so they arent sky. They arent anywhere near the same as my marlin billet ones either, Um, look weird, looks like the tie rod hole on pas arm is quite a bit further out than on my marlin arms, but it may just be the pic

I just hope they're not Trail Gear.

I guess it doesnt really matter.

they're definitely not trail gear.  however i think TG's would be better than those

I would say definitely cast, and T-G would be better for sure...

Wow sound's like I bought some junk. Do you think they could be one of the 3 major brands early disign?

ssicoffroadshop

yotatough

X2. I would run them. Sounds like you got an ok deal. Run it.

SCyotacrawler420

ya, hard to say what they are, but i know what they are for one thing... there runable an a yota! ha, get some new TRE's an maybe some arp studs an get to wheelin

greg_k113

Will do. I still think they look like Sky's and the guy I bought them off of thought they were Sky but whatever they'll work for me.

Steve_925

not sure where you guys are getting cast from, they used to make forged arms. tg still does, but since it doesnt have the removable pins i'd say they are pretty old and the older forged arms looked way different. they look to be billet to me. either way there are no bad steering arms i've bent marlin billet arms and broke the pins and iv'e had forged all pros with no problem. i wouldnt worry about anything, that is unless they did at one point make arms out of cast then i would ditch them. but i cant think oif any company making cast arms

they used to be cast... and the funky looking flash lines on them are what scream cast... do your forged arms have the funny looking corner lines?

More than anything, to me they look like they began rusting badly and somebody bead blasted them.  Either way, I'd run em
