Egr crap

I know this topic is talked about alot. I've read alot on pros and cons about the system. I want to eliminate vac lines and clutter. Question what happens to the engine if you don't have it on there? I know the state laws,so I want to know will my engine survive without it?

I didn't feel any difference with mine when i disconnected the egr.  As long as you remember to put it back on for smog, it should be fine.  I plugged mine off temorarily because the egr valve was plugged up and not working.  never noticed any change in performance or fuel economy.

Don't have to worry about smog test here. Doesn't get checked. Is it okay just to plug vac lines or do I need to remove it and seal it off

I do not have any vac lines and mine runs just fine.

It's easy to make some block off plates. And then take her off and plug the vac lines. As it gets older they can cause more problems then it helps. All it does is at highway speeds it dumps some exhaust back into the cylinder and reburns it. Enjoy!

Did the same to my 22RE. Removed all the clutter on top the valave cover. Eliminated the egr valve, built block off plates and WAMMO!! Runs AWESOME!!

I took the tubes that came out of the the exhaust manifold and cut the tubes and had my buddy fill them with his TiG welder. Had no interest in trying to figure out how to make my EGR work with propane injection. Haha, luckily NY has no emission standards on cars/trucks older than 25 years hehe.

I wish california would eaze up on it, 25 yrs and older should be a federal standard. china burns coal, and we breath it in the next day is my egr really going to make a difference
