Post your work bench
« on: Oct 30, 2010, 10:35:44 PM »
So we bought our first house an I now have a garage, looking for work bench ideas.

Mostly want to see homemade stuff but others can join in.

Not sick, but not well.

the table top is an 11 gauge prebent top from one of our steel shops here in town... they are 84 bucks after taxes. Underneith that is 1 inch wood that i actually recycled from my old bench that i screwed onto the top of the bench frame from underneith. the idea of this is to suppress some of the noise when hitting something on the workbench. it works very well.  the frame is mostly 2 inch angle iron that is built to be 42 inches high, 30 inches deep and 10 feet long.. it may seem a bit high but its actually perfect working height... a good working mans bench should be between your waste and elbows while standing. it makes it very comfortable for working at and keeps back fatigue down because you arent bending over what you are working on.

here is a pic of when i was building the bench.. (pics taken years ago..)

and here it is with the contertop on.. i dont have any recent pics so this will have to do.

the never ending build...
