tranny?

i got a toyota tranny with a truck i bought and im not sure what type it is. i remember seeing a thread about identifying tranny's but cant find it. any one no where or what its under. thanks

Is the t-case a forward shift? What year truck (is tranny the same)?


Actually a measurement from the bellhousing face to the shifter is a good tell.

it was just a tranny that came with the truck not on the truck with out a t-case on it.its a small tranny smaller then a L-52 so im thinking it might be a L-42 the 4 speed but it dont have a shifter on it so i cant tell

does the shifter go into the side of the trans or on top? pics would help..
