WHat kinda seats are those?
doing a great job man, your lucky your girl is interested in your project.. im lucky if mine will hold the camera for me

santa cruz crawler

The seats are "tenzo racing "  picked them from a buddy's truck for 100$
And my girlfriend , she never helps , she hates my toy !
I get like 5 min of help , it's cool , it's not like she can drive a cluch !!
Lol

santa cruz crawler

well , put some v6 flanges on my rear  driveline , i used the flanges from a front drive line that a neighbor traded to me , also my front flange is 4cy and is the t case so i had to switch them out anyway .

then i put in my v6 carrier in to the rear , cleaned every thing ,  i only had blue gasket maker  lol oh well feels 100% better

after that i went to my front springs , pulled a leaf that the po put in the pack before i bought them , and ...... these leafs pushed my front axil forward 3'', ? there not ruf ,  i was told they were waggies but now idk ,  the leafs are similar to my rears , idk
i like the wheel base now , i like the front forward look , but the shackle angle is lame   , i think i may settle a bit and with sliders a front stinger and all that somg equipment , it should .

ill post some pictures of the truck with the tires on !!  i hope it settles a bit

santa cruz crawler

here is a few more pics

i have been reading other peoples builds , sometimes other peoples work gives me ideas , or if i forgot something

santa cruz crawler

Went outside today and looked at the shackel angle , I think it's ok , I'm going to switch the shackels around , the rears are a little shorter , might make for a better drive line angle.

toyotanner

i like the black and crome rims :D

santa cruz crawler

thanks , im going to paint them inside the black is chipping , ill give them a coat and some steel wool when i get the other 2 tires .
i need a link to how to pull a first gen front window , i cant find anything . then next thing on my list is paint and i would like to do it right and strip the windows out .
more in the mornin

toyotanner

its a rubber seal... just go on the inside with a flatblade and get under the seal start at the top and work your way around

santa cruz crawler

Well , I went down to napa , got a sweet sanding disc for the
Grinder and a few cutoff wheels ,

Then started cutting , cleaning it up , 2coats of primer
And some gloss

I also got a few parts I bought off here
Should show up later in the week !
I'll have to order some marlin hd seals for the knuckles
Slow progress , it's 99 deg here , lots of tea and beer

nisota

Always gotta build with lots of tea & beer  I like the way you work & think.

More cutting and grinding !

santa cruz crawler

This week , I got a few things done to the truck.
A buddy of mine had a motor to put together , and a few other things to do to his truck and i needed a hand , pulling the bed to weld in my hangers , clean the tank , clean and paint the frame , box in the rear of the frame ,,,ect.
I've been taking pics here and there ,
Also got my wheel spacers from a member here !! Stoked
And more parts to finish the front axil seals, dust shields , ect
Pics the engine is a 90 efi that we rebuilt , it's going in the red truck.

More to come

santa cruz crawler

Well , got the engine running !! It's running nice,
After that I cleaned shop,
Looked at the mount and box , looks like I'm going to need a flat pitman arm!!
... If any one has one or would like to do a trade , that would help out alot .
Mornin time I'm going to grind tg bracket to make it fit nice !

santa cruz crawler

Well , today I went to the DMV , they wanted 707$ in back fees
Well I said the old owner is responsible for those fees and the smog !!
I demanded to speak to a manager , 15 min later 100$ walked out the door w papers to take to smog  :smokin:
So today I'll get most of what I need to drive it down to Santa Cruz
Through mud flaps on and get the smog done at my buddies shop !!
Then ill be able to go to the steel factory and pick up some tube for a bumper and sliders

84t0y

nice, cool that you ended up not having to pay 700.

santa cruz crawler

Yeah , that's alot for back reg !! I know people restore 57chevys and such ,
But when theres fees the DMV never help out . I just got lucky .there
But there is a trick to getting the fees waved  !!

santa cruz crawler

I have a few things left to do before I can take it for a test drive.
Weld the ifs mount
Weld in the Rest of the frame brace
Switch some rims around
Sand and paint the rest of the cab
Put back the lights
Put on the bed
Put the gas tank in
Fire it up
Bleed fluids
Bleed ps pump

Lots to do .

santa cruz crawler

Today i go some stuff done , started off sanding and primer
Here an there , then I just pulled every thing off sanded and painted gloss black
Tractor paint .!! Then I started getting the hood and fenders sanded ect
After all the front was good for the night , I started welding the rear bumper brace in ,
Was going to finish my tank side hanger so I could put the tank and bed back on ,
Spool of wire ran out !! So that's about it  few pics

Here's the cab pic

santa cruz crawler

I got up super early , sanded the inner and outer fender
Primer on ,
Went to air gas and picked up a 2Lb spool of 0.35
and wire brush . Got that all spooled up ready to weld
Went out side bolted the fender on , hooked up lights
Blinkers . Then went and got fluids for the ps pump radiator breaks,
And a rear break line that was way too long !! F pissed me off  !!
Whatever I find a stock one .
Board member YELLER is going to stop by and help me mock up and possibly
Weld in my ps bracket later today !!
Here's progress so far

Here's what my drag link is looking like

Box needs to go more forward

Peterbuilt84

I vote keep the bed. Not a huge fan of the flatbed look myself.

84t0y

1st gen bed, you can always bob it if you want it shorter.

santa cruz crawler

Big thanks to YELLER !! :beerchug: he came over for a few hours last week , and mon tue !!
We ended up putting the box as far as I could without chopping the body mount off !! Lol
YELLER brought a big a$$ stick welder , but it ended up not fitting the 210v .
So we brought out my mig, out side the welder is a pain , especially when it's windy
So I waited here an there , he also bright a sick electric welding helmet!!
Never used one that fancy !
So idk if the bed should go on or not , it's clean As far as dents and rust , I just thought of the flat bed , rear cross bar ,just somthing ,    Mabe

Here's  some pics of he last few days !

Now to deal with fuel lines !! They cross so much , i forget half way down the truck lol

santa cruz crawler

Well I got good news
After I blasted some air through the fuel line , listened for the bubbles
A few cranks later she started right up !!
One small leak in my heater control valve , I will switch it out in the mornin
Passenger side head light seems dim ? Going to grownd it better , then see if that helps ,mabe a new bulb ect
And my gas gage isn't working , I have another but I'm going to put some gas in to see if that helps
No cash to play with , I'll sand for the next few days !!

If any one has any input about my few problems feel free to chime in

santa cruz crawler

Oh poser pics of it running !!
