I got a crossover kit for Christmas. Now Ive got 4" Pro Comp springs that came with my 85 4Runner. In the future I plan on some kind of spring swap(still looking into that). What I would like to know is can I go ahead and put the Crossover kit on and move the IFS box as far foward as I can. still useing the Pro Comp Junk or should I wait till I move the axle foward with newer springs I build?   :dunno:  :dunno:

Should be just fine to move the box as far forward as you can.  The only thing you should have to adjust with the new springs is the draglink length (just by adjusting the ball joint ends in or out)

Good to hear you got goodies for christmas!

only purpose the torque rod serves is to bind and keep the j-arm from snapping and help with the scary brake steer when you try to stop hard :hammerhead:

hmmm  and this is a bad thing :dunno:
what about lengthening the torque rod about a foot so it doesnt interfere with the highsteer :dunno:

Because the place the torque rod mounts on the frame is right in the way of where the frame gusset for an IFS box goes.  Just  :flamer:  that thing off and don't look back.  You don't need it with the crossover anyway, as braking has way less input on the steering with a proper crossover setup.

:hammerhead: thats why i asked ,  why not move the torque rod mount out by the spring eye,  then you never have to worry about spring wrap :dunno:

It will still affect articulation whether you lengthen it or not...although Heims would help.
