Burned everything in today, and added some support to the upper link tower. Also flexed it out

Thanks man, I think it has a few more inches to go but my roof was about to hit the lights in the garage and I still don't have the limit straps in.

So i painted all of the links and axles today. While I was out there I was thinking about how much beef I should put in the axles. If I get the 35 spline upgrade kit for the front with 4wd factory drive flanges, yukon greasable u-joints, and yukon 1541h outers..and then get dutchman custom alloy 30 spline shafts for the rear will I be alright? I don't wanna be afraid to get it a little bit, in fear of breaking. I will be running 5.38's, spool rear, arb front and I am only on 40's.

you will be fine for strength if you do that. as far as the height, if you dont like it, swap out the upper coils while there brand new still for some that are 2" shorter?

That wont net him anything unless he likes having his springs drop out and hang loosely at full extension. Typically thats not so good because they can become misaligned in their seats and mar the soft aluminum parts of the shock. He'd be better to purchase a third spring called a helper spring, which is designed solely to reduce ride height. Besides he has more than enough room on the shock to fit one of these helper springs.  Thats why I sent him a 14" upper and a 16" lower. It makes room for that helper if its needed.

Got some limit straps in, might take some pics tommorow for the hell of it( not that it's any real progress, looks sweet with it all painted though).
I'm onto brake lines now, and I can't figure it out.   The rear still has the toyota fitting that came factory on the truck(10mm or whatever), and I have the fittings that go in the drums on the rear axle. The front is converted to standard(unknown size but the fitting on the truck screws into the flex line coming off the calipers).  So should I just go all toyota fittings and then flare the fittings on for the drum in the rear, and then run all chevy whatever size that is up front?

Also what is the easiest way to buy all of my hard line, buy a bunch of hardline from summit racing or jegs..or just go to the auto store and get one of those 5' pieces of hardline with random fittings on it, and flare my fittings on?

Shorter version,
-Anyone know what size the toyota fitting is that would come stock on the rear of my truck? It threads into a stock toyota axle caliper.
-Anybody know what size fitting the chevy dana 60 uses? I know it is standard.
- What is a good place to source all of my hardline, and also the steel braided line to go from the hard line on my axles to the hard line on the truck? I need one toyota for the rear, and chevy for the front.

I used Summit or Jegs for the fittings, Napa for the line.  Most of Toyota uses M10x1.0 flare.

Hey i found that brake line bender so whenever you get all that crap let me know. I've also got a roll of brake line you can use if you want, but its not exactly gonna be the most straight when its all done. it should work though.

Now that the truck is done( besides the little crap to get it on the road), I am thinking about a roll cage. I'm leaning towards getting the 4xinnovations internal kit for it, but still tossing around ideas of a partial exo. I added a poll so put your vote in! I would do something like this for an exo, with the tube that normally runs over the windshield wipers in the gutter under them if possible.

There would be two tubes in a /\ going up the windshield but I guess one of them didn't save, whatever it's late i'm going to sleep :puke:

Looks like its gonna be about $750.00 for the dom 4xinnovations kit to my door :yikes:. I think thats what i'll end up doing though.

On a side note, does anyone have a good source for steel braided brake lines? I need to have two lines made, one for the front and one for the rear. I should be able to get lines, they just need to have standard chevy fittings 1 male 1 female, but I haven't found anything yet.

I fawking love mine. It was worth it, all pre-bent, pre-notched and ready to go. Fedex dropped it off around noon and I had in the truck and 90% done by dinner time. hahaha

Ya yours looks good. I'm 95% positive i'm gonna order it, depending on how i'm sitting after I order my axle shafts and the front arb. The only thing I don't like about it is how much i want to add to it. I will add a dash bar, window bars, harness bar, tie it to the frame, and mounts for some bucket seats.
So what's your wheelbase, frame highth, and belly highth?
Wheelbase is 126", frame height is 27 1/4" with the tires full, belly height is 24". I might go flat belly if I think I really need it.

Mine sits at 125 1/2" wheel base, 25" frame height on 38s, and 21" to the bottom of the stock cross member. So if I put 40s on I'd sit the same... I'm going to flat belly and shorten my wheel base to some where around 118"

What size tires are you on? I think if I shortened my wheelbase to 118, my tires would rub the cab.

I just measured, you should be alright. Theres a good 14" or so to the cab on mine, I am going to move the rear axle forward 6" when I do the 4 link.

Dutchman rear shafts, 35 spline yukons stubs, spicer u joints, and solid flanges are on the way. Brake lines are done, heres the list:
Need to buy,
-arb mini compressor
-rear shocks( the cheap ones I can use as bumpstops )
-4xinnovations cage kit( not nessecary to wheel it)
What I need to do,
-Bleed brakes
-put the new shafts in front and rear
-take truck to wfo concepts to get gears/lockers done, and also shocks charged with nitrogen.
I also need to have the rear drive shaft shortened.
