I have a 94 ext cab with a 5.7 vette engine/narrowed 9 inch.I snapped the drivers' side axle at the splines.i'm trying to figure out if both axles are of equal length so i can find a replacement. Each axle has been set up for 6 lug wheels.Where do I start? The axles /housing were from the doner (rolled 85 toy) whos origin is unknown. The studs are screw in and long like on drag cars.Any info would be highly appreciated.
I'd rather push a Toyota than drive a Jeep!!!

i'm confused...you say you have a 9" but the axles are from an '85 toyota?  so you're saying the ford 9" was originally in the old truck?

have you taken both axle shafts out and compared their length?

The ford 9 inch was on the 85 which had been rolled. The last time I had the axles out,I think that the drivers' side is shorter. There are 28 splines on the axles.

turn of the censor stuff in your preferences, then you can type whatever you like.
'84 Hilux, locked, dual-cased, winched, EFI converted, 37" tired, half-doored (in the summer...)
'87 Supra, 400 HP.  smooth as glass at 130 'cause my tires are NEW!...

Pull the other shaft and call up Mark williams axles.  They are about $200 for a new set of shafts.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

with a big motor you might want to consider upgrading to at least 31 spline shafts
