hi, my name is adam, im 15 i just registered on this site but i have been looking on it forever, i've been around toyotas all of my life, and just love to work on them, i got my project when i was 13, me and my dad have been working on it since i got it, when we first got it for $1300, it didnt run, we looked into that and found that someone had an aftermarket security system wired directly to the efi fuse, so they ran a wire with a switch straight from the battery to the fuel pump,
here is a pic from the day i got it

heres one from the 1st start :reg:

first drive ever, found out it had NO power, so we looked into it, timing had hopped 4 teeth :driving:

bored, so i took these off

i have over 300 pics of change, but im summing it up, new valance, hunting season

front end complete, clears, new valance, dixie horns :gap:
we also found this is the park lights :reg:

and then it went to my moms house, that was a bad decision,

that everyday for about 2 months killed my motor, so we put a new one in it

so then my house burnt down out there so now it has to live in town right now,
here is a pic of my step-dads 1st gen

the 1st gen has sat now for 1+ year, its rusting, and its knocking..
so hello marlincrawler!

oh and the most recent pic of my truck, after hitting the high marks on the hillclimb=) beat a chevy!

i love those tires

its a 1988, my plans are just sas with 6'' with 35's, not a wheeler, that 1st gen is nothing someone would want, lol, knocking motor, broken windsheild, leaking axles, leaking motor, bad tranny, and the hubs are shot, one day i hope i get it =)

nice man that sounds about the same as me except id go with 4" instead of 6". 4" with 35s and a little bit of trimming will be a lot more stable on the trail than 6" with 35s, unless you plan to go to like 38s or somethin down the road. psh id take a first gen anyday! gives me another project!

Well some updates have been made, the 1st gen toyota sat for.. 3 years and now is sold, it lives near me and they put a high preformance 22re in it, My truck has had just a few updates on it, Got an SR5 hood, since mine got bent during the motor swap.. (dad dropped it), and I'll be uploading a picture of it most recent, this one is a month or so old, but figured it would be good to update my thread, and I'll be posting some SERIOUS pictures once I get my phone card adapter back from a friend. I turned 16 in march, and in the first 2 days i tossed around 500 miles on my truck, all in a 14-15 mile stretch of road, good times. Well here is a more updated picture, and i will be posting more soon!

and yes, paint is the next item to do, Factory red:)

Found more pictures of the day I got it, Actually about 20 minutes after I got it!

Its a sad sight, but every toyota must see it atleast once in its life.. Being towed..

Cam in my new motor went to :pokinit:, The shop where we bought the head from did all of the work for free, and did a nice job! we assembled the motor for the first time, from just a rebuilt block, then we drove it for awhile, it smoked. Damn, looked into it, and my old head had a broken valve spring, and had some other issues (original head). Bought a BRAND NEW head, complete for $220, sweet deal, it wore down a cam, they fixed it for free, but we had to tow it there, oh well it was still a good deal!

As you can tell the front bumper is bent.. Lets shorten the story and say that I am FORSURE hunting this year. lol, Found one of my spare emblems (have.. to many to count) and cut it to say "YOTA",

Not bad for an old toyota right? Still need to raptor-liner the bed, and put the chrome trim back around my window, but other than that, its time for SAS, and waiting for my 15,000 new 22re to die so i can drop a 3rz in it!
