Cool so I expect you to take Smith with your first pick!!  :ha_ha: :ha_ha:

Ha funny . I don't have that much confidants in him to start my QB.I'd rather start some one else maybe as back  up but I can't say who so none of y'all pick them. OH again on the draft thing. I really need to do this like before 8pm Mountain , my wifi here goes crap about that . With so many people on one line it is bound to happen in Yellowstone . If that can't work I will find a way .. I say we have the draft asap . But hey I'm just so geared up for football season .  :woohoo:
We have another game tonight Carolina vs Buffalo . I'm thinking tonight's game will be a fun to watch and to see if Clausen is really PRO ready . Some say he is coming out of ND , but I've read that he is also having troubles learning the playbook and reading defense at Carolina. It will be also exciting to Spiller who was the fastest RB at the combine drills.Really the old good play Buffalo decided to draft this which IMO they should have gone QB but I guess they gotta rebuild some where .There other games on tonight , however ,my cable here really sucks and they only have ESPN , so others the are?

Tonight's schedule is
Carolina vs Buffalo on ESPN 6pm MT
NE Patriots vs NO Saints 5:30pm MT
OKA Raiders vs Dallas  - 7pm  MT

Stats : 85 Toyota 22RE , 3" body lift, 32" wild country's, Duel Marlin, Lock rights front and rear, full inside cage.

I drive , I wheel , I crawl , I am Toyota

Weekdays any time after 5 pm pacific time works for me. I also just checked out the rules, lots of emphasis on defense, I like it

Finally got a chance to check out the Fantasy website a bit.  The Defense is the main thing that I'd vote to change.  Having all the defensive positions made it more complicated and they never scored any worthwhile points, at least for me.  I'd prefer just having a team defens/special teams and dropping the individual defensive positions.

I personally liked the defense positions but it might be better if they could earn a few more points for big plays.  defensive players on your roster prevents teams from stacking their benches full of nothing but offenseive players.   It Basically adds more strategy to the game.

i just hope to get a starting RB this year, Drew Brees pretty much carried me around all last season.

EarlKann,

I have changed the rules from last season to make it more evenly competitive. Major changes are increased points from defense and special teams to help offset an overwhelmingly powerful offense. I have setup Waviers that are used to help control roster changes. Also, I am very open to rule changes before the season begins. I want this to be fair and fun for everyone!

I made changes and also left the table open to suggestions with the last sentence quoted above.

Here is what the rules currently look like: http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/leaguesetup/settings?leagueId=824374

Also I setup points based on touches since some Running Backs get a lot of touches but not many yards, such as 3rd down and goal line backs. So that way more RBs will become valuable instead of only the big yard gainers.

Lets get everything squared out and get it as fair as possible before the draft!

So no points for sacks, tackles and assisted tackles, defended passes & interceptions, forced & recovered fumbles, blocked kicks/punts, number of kick off and punt return yards??

Honestly i sounds kind of interesting but I think that because I have never done it like that, I am falling into that kidish way of automatically not liking it. Maybe I will once it gets going. I'll go with the group. Put me down for either way.

In my opinion no points for defense is kind of dumbing down the strategies.  Just my 2  :twocents:

Just to clarify, last year we had individual defensive positions but they hardly ever scored any points effectively doing what you said.  After a few weeks I completely stopped caring about my defensive players.

Since it was a waste of time I said that I would prefer to just have one position for defense/special teams.  But since Mike has changed the scoring rules so that maybe the defense will actually make a difference this year I'm fine with that too.

i teach 6th grade for a living so unless there is a school function going on on the night that you guys choose, I am good most any evening. I may need it a bit later that 5 though. I also coach girls volleyball and by the time I get out of practice and home its usually about 5:30ish.

I would rather go longer than 30 seconds between picks. I'd be apt to go with the 2 minutes personally, but I am rusty so the magazine pages will be flying, and the highlighter working hard in between picks, especially in the later rounds.

Maybe 1:30 or so?

I honestly dont mind spending time in the draft, even if takes a good amount of time. For one, its fairly fun, and lays out the entire year. Also, I want that Marlin hoodie!!

im thinking we should make it 1:00 to 1:30 minutes. im going off projetcions for my pics so when we get further down the line its gonna start taking me more time. plus the first few rounds people will pic within a few seconds so it kinda evens out.

im ready for the draft, im gettin antsy

I am also getting really antsy. Team Jeep called me last night and told me he already has his entire draft planned out :o

60 or 90 second draft time sounds great, I will change that

So regarding the draft, we are still short 2 teams, BUT, I say let's just run with 10 teams! It's an even number and I think it will be a LOT of fun.

So if that's ok with everyone, then I will cut it to 10 teams (2 divisions of 5 teams) and let's do the draft soon.

So doing the draft soon... I can do it any evening but it will need to be late, like after 7 or 8pm PST or so

After 6pm Pacific for me as well. I cannot do it next Thursday night due to Back to School Night, but I think i am cool any other night.......even a SUnday evening would be fine with me. Probably even better in fact.

Mike, I think that you are just going to have to throw up a date and see if anyone has to veto it for whatever prior engagement.

The learning curve is going to be a straight line for me with all the individual defensive position and the strategy on that, so i will be one that lags on the time when those picks start to roll in.

Not to try to make thing overly difficult but possibly a 1:00 time limit for first 5 rounds and then 1:30 for the rest. I played in a league like that once, and it worked OK.

Ok, I reconfigured the league. Dropped the two empty teams and changed draft interval time to 90 seconds per team.

The draft order will be Randomized One Hour Prior to Draft Time

And the draft date has been officially set to Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 9:00 PM ET
