Should i do the suspention lift with the straight axle first or should i build some bullet proff axles with longs 30 splines and ARB's front and rear. I can't make up my mind. Oh and this is on a 87 runner

Here is the axle Stuff
Front & Rear e-lockers setup w/ 5.29's from marlin
New wheel bearings and nut kits
Front and rear axle gussets (3)
Knuckle rebuild kit
Rear 4340 Chromolly axle shafts
Front Bobby longs 30 spline Birfields & Axle shafts
Complete Knuckle stud kit

This will be about 4k and i will have about 5k to blow

Here is the Suspention lift stuff
Fox 2.5" Air Shocks 16" travel
Gears, front axle rebuild stuff
38.5" TSL/SX
24ft 7075 series Aluminum 2" solid ( for 4 link front and rear )
Cross over steering
3/4" Heim joints 18,810 lbs.

I'd say build your axles first that way when you do the lift and go to 38's the axles will are ready for it, but add the histeer while building the axles

Mike D

I could do that  and just install it on the axles before hand

Hyena

build the axles first.  Easier to build them off the truck then on.

With that kind of money to blow, and that big of tires, why not go to 1 ton axles?

Mike D

Thats and idea i look into that. Don't forget this will be my daily driver.

Get some photos of that 4 link when you start building. Looks like it's going to be one sweet ride!

I would do 1 tons but i don't want to pay someone to narrow them and they are hella heavy for a 22re DD. i have changed my mind on the locker situation (thanks Bigmike) i will be going with a HP e-locker on the front with 5.29's and in the rear i will be getting a V6 e-locker they run at 1,199 each and fully setup with 5.29's which sounds like a good deal to me  :twocents:

What does 1 tons and daily driver have to do with anything??  It will be fine.

If you gear the 1 tons high enough, it will not be a big deal on your Yota motor either.

Why pay someone to narrow them?  Run em full width with the deep wheels to take up some of the width issues.

Now, if you are dead set against 1 tons, I would keep the axles and build them first.  Suspension aint chit, Use junkyard springs that are good and soft and you can get em from free to 200 bucks for a set of 4.  You can build your axles, have a blast wheelin and still get good flex off junkyard crap.

GOod luck, keep us posted.

Yes, Livin in Kansas sucks azz!!

I already have stock front springs but i don't really want to use them cause i am going to be doing the air shock susp right after the axle stuff and i have already been pulled over cause my tires stick 1" out of my wheel wells. so 1 tons are out of the question. and you lose clearence with the hugwe fatty axles
