Diferent Gas Tanks?

I was wondering if 79-89 shortbed trucks and or runners have a shorter gas tank than a long bed or xtra cab, just wondering how they fit into a frame 10" shorter than a long bed because it apears that the length is between the 2 cross members that the tank is attached to?

I know that on my 83 long and short bed are diff.

Sweet that's what i thought but never real paid attn until I wanted to shorten my wheel base
