CJ leaf springs on 92 ext cab
« on: Dec 14, 2004, 02:59:25 PM »
I have been thinking when I do my SAS I might try to run Jeep CJ leafs front and rear. I want about 8" of lift and thought I could get that with 4" lift CJ springs. I think the springs are about the same length but don't remember exactly (have not owned a jeep in 8 years). A CJ and a toyota are close to the same weight. What do you guy's think? Anyone ever try it?

i'd stay away from CJ springs.  they're much narrower than toyota(or comparable) springs.

i hear YJ springs aren't so bad, but very soft

I thought jeep springs are 2.5". My old jeep road stiff as hell but the springs did have alot of flex.

I had 4" wranglers thier a lot like the wagoneer's they didn't flex that good and road ruff, I could'nt tuck them all the way either. My buddy has 2.5" rubicon express springs, they flex realy good and gave about 4" of lift and are military wrapped and only 200 for pair.

How much lift did you get out of the 4" springs?

Like 7", but they didn't flex well, I had to have a lot of weight to get them to move.
