3 in. body lift rear tube bumper
« on: Dec 12, 2004, 10:22:05 PM »
Well i finally got a fix-it-ticket tonight. I need front and rear bumpers. I even argued with the cop about how a rear bumper is not needed to drive on the street. He told me that if a HONDA CIVIC runs into the back of my truck they will get DECAPITATED! :shocking:  No matter what a rear bumper will not stop that, i would have to lower my truck to stop that!! Cops make me mad. :shocking:

Ok well now that i got that out and said. I want a rear tube bumper that will fit an 88 toy with a 3 inch body lift. I like Marlins but i dont think they make them for body lifts. I also want marlins front stinger bumper but also run into the same problem. Iv thought about getting rid of the body lift but my tires tuck perfect in the fenders. Im kinda stuck on what to do.

I heard that they only make them for body lifts if you drop your truck off their for a week. But i could be wrong. Chris could you comfirm if thats true or not? I live like 3 hours away so i couldnt do that. If i could order one already made i would right now. I love that stinger bumper!

Im the same way. I have a 3 inch body lift :ack: and i can stuff my 37s in there pretty good. I would also like a new front bumper but the body lift makes it harder to find. I dont want to get rid of the body lift because I would have to cut up my fenders and my 37s are brand new and I wouldnt want to screw them up.
RIP Kyota.... you are the man

GET IT!!!

yeah libuddy, if you can, avoid cutting the fenders, i wish I hadn't.  It looks alright, but it wasnt worth the effort in my opinion.  and my front fenders need more cutting to avoid rubbing the tires, which i do not want to do, that is why i am switching to 35"s

if yer frame is like 28" from the ground than yer fine. measure from under the driver's door(roughly mid-point of vehicle).

i like bumpers to protect MY truck. if you run/back into a tree/rock while wheeling yer truck is going to loose. and if that civic dose hit you the bumper will put them in that much of a world of :pokinit:.

I want to get bumpers anyways but i just thought the cop was out of his mind.

I think we need some input from Chris himself about him making bumpers for BL's. If he started making them they would sell forsure.

I think the only thing they would have to make is some adapting brackets :dunno:

I think i should just get the bumper and use a friends welder and make some mounts on the frame that line up.
