well its only doing it when im going down the road and i go to stop. it will idle and while its sitting i can blip the throttle and it still runs, but when im coming to a stop it quits and in second gear in between 2 and 3000 rpms it chugs and sputters pretty bad but if i stomp it it will pick up and go

You say you hit the gas at idle.  Is it on high idle or just idling normally?
