sorry guys--- for some reason my email didnt tell me guys replied to me so i didnt know there was any new posts.

as of now im waiting to order parts for the 3.4 oil pan swap so i can finally put on my hydro assist thats been sitting around forever in my garage. plus ive done a few other "want to do" modifications as i wait- my ARB compressor switch was just dangling through the hole that was the ashtray so i made a little plate to mount it to and keep the switch from swinging and turning on when i didnt want it to. remounted CB to a more knee friendly position, pulled up all the carpet from under the back seat all the way to the back (which never dried from the big ran 4 months ago- and sprayed in rattle can bedliner, and made a hilift mount. last trip out i broke both rear topper windows so i fitted in some cheap-o lowes "speed glass" (a modification i suggest doing only if you have a small amount of common sence or more (unlike me)) - slow drill speed so as not to continously crack the plasti-glass, and heat it up ALOT so it will all stay down when it cools down and not pull up in spots causing me to borrow a riviter. Like under my profile picture says "function wwwaaayyyyy before form"

very cool runner   love the bob job! looks pretty tall with them 39.5s.
i cant find the picture but i have a pic of my (at the time 2 1/2 yrs old) standing next to the tires and it looked like he could walk under the truck without banging his head. i think my frame at the middle body mount is 31 inches with 3 pounds of air in the tires  :yikes: :puke:

heres a couple of pics to keep this thread going and to " :bayer: sho-off :bayer:" (sorry these are all pre bob---- i went on one trip after the bob and once again saw how much i needed hydro so i came home and started the pan swap)

Im destined to have crumpled quater panelswhich is fine. i like the raisin look too

i got my cage from 4xinnovations.com. its a "full" cage- a-pillar all the way back to d-pillar. but when i got it, the b-pillar was a little wider than my truck, so i narrowed it. when i did that it changed the angles of the a-pillar bringing it closer to my head. i hit it everynow and then (i padded the hell out of it). i recommend their cages if you wanna buy instead of build. but im going to build a different cage to suit me and my truck. now that ive done some fabrication im not afraid to tackle the kinda cage i wanna build.

as for fixing it im not sure exactly what i want to do. i wanna rebuild a new cage, so im not sure i really want to fix that section. but i dont want to leave it looking ugly like that sooooooooo

nice ya i got their full cage kit to and was looking to bob mine a little.... looks good

I like the 4runner.  I am a colorado wheeler too, it seems on marlins fourm is from california.  I find killer deals on parts or tires i want, then see that it is in California.  I have to fix another 4runner for a daily driver then my rig is going to get way built.  I want to bob mine.  how much did you take out?  I have seen people take so much off that the shakels came up and smashed the tail gate.  I actually can fit 39's on a close to stock ride hight.  I cut the fenders out really really far.  I would never recomend it for the unskilled fabricator, it was alot of work.  I am not saying i am super skilled, I just had access to alot of tools and welders, and someone who can weld amazingly.

coloradocrawler

yeah there seems to be alot cali on the forum BUT--- it is a company based out of cali and thats were alot of good trails are sssoooo....

theres quite a few Colorado based forums. like colorado4x4 and lunatic4x4, CoTTORA and i know theres a few others.

i took eleven inches out of the back of the truck and 11 inches out of the front of the topper. it was kinda hard to do but once i got the welder # dialed in and figured out im not looking for the perfect body line it went pretty easy. i wanted to keep the functioning tailgate so i had to take 4inches off the bottom and rebuild a hinge setup. the window sticks out of the top like 2-3 inches but its nothing. i am no where near super skilled- i too had the access to tools and friends for knowledge. but i know its more try it and se what works too. so i did the bob all by myself.

ive taken out alot of the firewall and the rear section of the wheel well and i still rub 39.5's at full stuff. so im gonna let it self clearence for a while.

ok thanks.  I think I am just going to have to find some time and do some measuring and see what I can get away with taking out for a bob.  way to much to do and not enough time.

it is eastern colorado, the flat part.  it is halfway between denver and colorado springs then east.  it is close to parker, or castle rock.
