probably was stolen, Taken to mexico and repainted then found another vin and screwed it on...

Pretty funny for being such a clean truck and they didnt even take the time to get matching screws for the vin plate... LOL

It looks very clean but... in my experience, dealers are good at slapping a cheap paint job over bad bondo on an otherwise decent or beat up rig, asking way too much and finding a sucker to buy it.  I've seen a few first gens, the few I can remember off the top of my head anyway, sold for too much at used car dealers.  They all "looked good" for a little while, but I easily found bondo on one and noticed another looked like it hadn't been painted in 20 years after not even 3.

As for the vin plate, they coulda replaced the cab at some point and just transfered the plate.  I replaced the entire dash in my 81 2wd and did the same, screwed the plate from the old dash onto the new dash, but I think I may have used matching screws  :haha:

After looking through more of the pics, it does look pretty clean all the way around.

definitelly the vin was either taken off for repainting or its not the original vin..  i have owned 5 first gens and currently have 3 and the vins are all rivited..  my dads truck is rivited and the my buddies two trucks are rivited..  obviously something is up here...  still not a bad truck..
