well, the curse is back.
Just when i was thinking everythuing was going to be running again, something else breaks :smack:   This time i think it is the transmission, i really hope it isnt.  In first it is fine, but when i am in second or higher, and i give my truck gas, there is a vibration of some sort.  it is only when i push on the gas, and it speeds up with higher rpms.  however, there is no preformance suffering, so i am not sure what it is

:help:  :help:  :help:

If it is the U-joint which one will you get...try and get a HD type I have Bruteforce HD U-Joints and I am very happy with them...after I had them for around a year a popular 4x4 magazine did a write up on the 10  best aftermarked u joints and BF Hd joints were on there...not bad for around 12 bucks a pop at Autozone

I had an 82 Datsumbit*h w/ :tantrum:  a spool in the rear  it would bust a u joint every 310-325 miles you could set your trip odometer and it was just like it knew how many miles was on it and it would start vibrating had to keep a spare in the glove box. But I did get where I could change one in under 10 min. 8) BTW BD do ya have a pic of your new spotter w/o your mug covering her up?

DontStall Rockcrwl

sounds like the exact problem i have. i was told it was my driveline angle because its only happening after i installed my dual t-cases. but maybe it is the u-joints?? its only when i give it hard gas and coasting, but when i give it little gas the noise doesnt occur..
You have all gotta be jealous how close i live to the 'Con

BLACKDOG

sounds pretty much like that is the problem.  I did crawl under the truck before i wentto work todaY, and i didnnt find a whole lot, although the ujoint at the front of the rear drive line doesnt look quite right to me.  Had a bunch of crap all over it too, so i didnt get a good look at it

BTw :03hdfatboy, i do indeed have more pictures of my spotter, check out MY avitar, not hers.  thought this was a truck forum though?  what, do we need to start a girlfriend/significant other thread? :smack: I'll leave that one up to you  :beerchug:

:rivers: I'm not THAT old. :rivers: But my oldest kid will be 19 in June

kyle_22r

i had the same symptoms but it ended up being my pinion gear blowing up.  had a good vibration and a lot of banging coming out of the rear diff :_oops:

BLACKDOG

yeah, that is kinda what ruger and i have narrowed it down to.  we had the rear up on a jack, and the front braced against a curb, and it was vibrating like crazy :nerv:   it was pretty cool, going about 25-30 with moving.  were taking it apart tommorow, so we'll see what is going on :crossed:

yeah, me too.  Oh well, it happens, life goes on.  I now have a complete front end, and a rear third laying on the deck of my apartment complex.  I have a trashbag wrapped around the rear end, and I am driving my parents car :shudder:  a burgandy chrysler cirrus.  I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WHILE I AM DRIVNG!!!  I almost threw myself through the windsheild when i tried to hit the clutch, (auto) and nailed the left side of the brake petal.
hopefully I can get my third rebuilt tommorow or tuesday, so i can drive my truck again.  :rockingout:
