exhaust headers!

anyone got any idea where i can find a header for a 20r for a fairly reasonable price?
84 toy, bobbed, chevy rears, rear toy fronts, locked f/r, 5 in of lift, 5:29s, rebuilt 20 r, 34 in swampers, 8000 lb ramsey to take me where the lead foot is to heavy!!!...
future mods... crossover steering, and dual ultimate crawler !!!

any header that fits an '81-84 22R will fit your motor.  if you go cheap there's pacesetter and hedman, the better headers are LC engineering, downey, and thorley

unless you're into the higher RPM stuff a header won't give you much gain though

LC headers were on sale if for $ 250 pretty good deal and they are nice  :turtle:   :crossed:

well mines stock, and its gasket is leaking like a siv... ill prolly ride it out for a lil while.... just wanted to see what all is out there...

I would get a thorley or Downey...yeah they help you out more in the high RPM department but they also free up alot of low end torque

How much power will you get out of a header? Im thinkin like 10hp..To anyone who has done this was it a noticable difference?

I think that out of headers you will notice a 10 hp difference if you do all the exhaust right you will get out around 20hp off your exhaust alone...try to get a high flow cat if you want a cat at all :yupyup:

or if your a daily driver, punch it out, cut it open and weld a pipe through it so its "legal"... ive been lucky a few times cause i did that.. on my dd

I put a downey header and  Air filter  on my 85 ex cab  . Could barely pull hills  in third  Now I can hold fourth Gear.

I just bought a Thorley...it will go on when I drop my new engine in about two weeks.  checkout www.summitracing.com , they had Thorleys for 225...if you dont have to smog, I think they has one for 180.

i got a headder.... 50 bux!!?? i think its headman.... i bought the truck from my buddie and its on an 85 but he said its for the 84...... im just putting on the stock manifold so i really dont need it and i need money!!! its about 9 months old.. let me know!!! PM Me
