I have a hard decision to make and would like some advice.  I have a 85 std cab with 22r carb. lift, lockers bla  bla. I bought a 4.3l v6, Howe wiring harness, Fuel pump, computer, AA bell hsg to a R150trans, R150 trans ( needs front brg ) pretty much have everything to do the swap. I recently acquired a 88 runner V6 very good condition. Now I'm thinkin swap all the goodies from the 85 to the runner but in order to do it I would need to sell the 4.3l and accessories my welding skills are not good enough for the swap. Everyone tells me the runner is the way to go, But I love the truck. Any advice ?

if you have all the swap stuff for the 4.3 swap it in the 4runner i did mine 884runner and put a 95 cpi 4.3 after you get the engine in there than do a sas using the parts from your 85 truck

The thing is money, I would have to either sell the engine to pay for the sas or sell the runner to finish off the 4.3l swap. I have no extra coin right now.

I personally would put the motor in the truck. i have driven both 4cyl and v6 toyotas and they are comparable in power but the 4cyl is lighter and gets better mpg. so i dont think i would be happy with the 3.0 in my trail vehicle, the power, weight and economy would disappoint me. that being said, a 4.3 is one of my goals for my truck so my opinion might be biased. i also like having a truck bed and the lighter weight that the truck offers...
