Help with my Harmonic Balancer

What am I missing...???  
 
Trying to remove the Harmonic Balancer off my Oldsmobile 403 V8...
 
The manual says the mounting bolt should have been torqued to 310 Ft-Lbs...
 
I have laid into it with well over 400 and nothing....
 
This thing is not "left hand" threaded is it..???
 
I have sprayed the "area" with penetrating fluid...
 
Whats next, a bigger cheater pipe..??  how about a torch on the bolt head...???  then catch it after it cools...???
 
I don't want to shear the bolt off...!!!

:idea:maybe try like you can do on toyotas put a breaker bar on the bolt and secure the end of it to the driver side frame rail and turn it over I have had to something that extreme to do 22r' bolts in the past! i know it sounds extreme but it works!

white_trash is not crazy that works I done it also. Sometimes by accident  . But you may not be that far off with the old hot wrench idea. I have had to heat a harmonic balance bolt before to break it loose. Just make sure you let the bolt cool, and if the dampner is a fluid dampner that might not be a good idea unless u have a replacement. And snap-on has a 1 inch impact thats got about 1200 ft-lbs of stank. but there a liitle price. keep us informed

If you heat it, you might risk heating the rubber in the pulley.

The persuader bar (breaker ball) is what I do when all else fails... next would be a deep lake....

I have also found somtimes tapping the bolt head with a hammer to loosen things up.. :.order:
