has anyone ever heard of someone running a dual case set up with only the factory t-case cross member and mount? i can't afford the cool new dual case cross member. i will only be driving this vehicle as a commuter for awhile. maybe a few light trails. anything i can find on Maui at least.

You can do it, just have to notch out the crossmember for the front driveline. Puts a lot of stress on the mount, but the guy I bought a truck from ran it for a long time with no problems.

i would be carefull of the torque that it has down there.   specially if you have 4.7 gear set in the rear case and have to use it.

it works fine and people have been doing it for a very very very long time. like peace said you just have to notch it for the driveline

i am an idiot. i was under the truck and realized the drive shaft clearance issues. my thoughts are: (remembering that i have no money.) what if i used the stock cross member and just moved it back and mounted it on the rear reduction box? that would get rid of the drive shaft issues, right? a little fabrication is no problem. i have a little scrape steel laying around. and they are stock gears.

i don't understand.(i am very new to toyota's. hence the screen name.) does the adapter give rotation to the rear case?

What year truck do you have? Please search; a TON of this has been covered before... rotation or not.

moving the cross member back would do you justice it would set the support of torque to the center of torgue. add a couple braces to it and you will be good for a permanent fix. just make sure its fabbed well and youll be good for the long haul
