Just like the title says. I will be headed up to CO the last week of July thru the first week of Aug. I know it's a ways out still but it will be here before I know it. I'm looking to hit Blanca Peak, Holy Cross, and Carnage Canyon. Also going to hit whatever may be near those trails. I'm driving my rig from Houston, wheeling, and then driving her home. I have a friend from New Mexico that will be joining along to. Unfortunately he's a Heeper, but I can look past that. There also might be a few guys from TTORA Houston coming too.
I will be camping this trip but the girlfriend needs a campground w/ showers. That's her min requirement. Can any of you tell me what good campgrounds are near any of these trails? Also if any of you would like to join me and my buddy in wheeling these trails please do so.....
Thanks in advance.

I'm going to try. Whenever there's a trail nailed down for sure I will figure it out from there.

I'm pretty sure the trails are nailed down; there's always last-minute changes though. It'll go like this in the morning:
A) Where do you want to run?
B) I don't care, where do you want to run?
A) It doesn't matter, where do you want to run?
And so on until Volcom says "we're going here".

Last year we did Holy Cross on Friday, Iron Chest/that area Saturday while some ran Carnage and Sunday was Chinaman's Gulch. I may be off a bit, someone double-check me?

I'm not in charge of who's running what trails.  People need to talk to other people at camp the night before and or get to camp early in the morning the day of the run to group up with others that are similarly built.

There's a KOA close to where we are going to be camped

Looks like they have showers

I've stayed at Chalk Creek once (CO4RJ 04).  It was nice but is about 14 miles away from where the main group is camping.

If you stay at another campground, I'd suggest hanging out at our camp at night and then come around early in the morning to make sure you hook up with a group to go wheeling.

It sounds like you want to run Holy Cross.  We will be running it Friday, July 30th.  It's about an hour / hour & a half away from BV.  We usually leave camp @ 7am Friday morning to get to the trailhead @ 830am.

There's also going to be big group of Cali guys here in CO the week before.  Scotty from Addicted Off Road is going to take the week off to show these guys around.  I'd suggest hooking up with them to get some trails in.

If you want to run Blanca, here's all the info I could find on camping in that area
http://www.nps.gov/grsa/planyourvisit/lodging.htm

I've camping off of Medano Pass 20+ times.  It's a nice area but it's primitive camping (no water, no showers, no bathrooms, tons of bears).  Yes, I'm serious about the bears.

Let me know if you've got any other questions.

Ah, I was just kidding Volcom... it just seemed like you knew the trails better than anyone there last year so it seemed like you were running the show. I'm no expert by any means so I just go with the flow.
