Gixxer Jon

Where are you moving from, Ive been trying to see how many people from bakersfield actually get on here and ive talked to about two...  :ha_ha: Hopefully there is more then just that with some yota's...

San Mateo in the SF Peninsula. So how is Bakersfield?

Gixxer Jon

its Bakersfield!  So why are you moving down here?

Well there isn't anything exciting right out our back door thats intresting to go wheeling in.

But Bakersfield is surrounded by mountains so to hit some mountain terrain, its on the outskirts of bakersfield. Since Ive only had my rig for about 2 months now. Ive been exploring trying to find some close rock terrain. Im still trying to talk to locals about places they wheel in the area that i havnt dicovered.

There is quiet abit of off-roading and crawling areas with in 30 min to an hour away from bakersfield...

Work. I just got hired at a preserve. Mountain trials sound awesome. It's way better than Metropolitan trials, ie. roads.

You wouldn't happen to know anyone renting out rooms?

I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...

Hammers will be like Hollister after I move. Go as often as I get a chance.

I made the move from San Jose to Merced a year ago and I'm really enjoying the smaller town and being close to the sierras... :twocents:

jrock

It won't as busy as the SF BA but I want to get out of the BA for a while.

emsvitil

My parents are in BF.

It's the surrounding area that's nice.

And you'll need Home AC......

sweet! another wheeler in bakersfield!  there is a lot of local trails in the area that are fun to run on a weekend.  i manage a club in bakersfield called High Road Enterprises.  come check it out if you get a chance.  i just got done telling jon S about it.  it would be awsome to get some more toyota's in the club.  we could use it.  we meet up every tuesday night for shop night so people can work on their rigs and use the tools if they need to, or just hang out.  its all free to use.  call me if your interested.

Gixxer Jon

KOH was an accident for me but I was stocked to go. San Mateo to Bakersfield and then to Yucca Valley. All going 75-85mph no problems.

superyota

bakersfield to the lucerne, 60mph with a trailer :turtle3:  we were up there all week.
its always nice wheeling with people that have the same make truck as you do, nothing agaist jeeps,  but when your the only toy in the group that goes on trails, it gets a bit lonely.

my rig will handle over 70+ but i dont like driving over 70 mph bc i have a commercial license and i get screwed if i get a speeding ticket.

This year was my first year at KOH, i Couldnt believe all the yota's there was about 60% of the rigs were yota's

I deff cant wait to get my rig the way i want it before next year..

a bunch of us from bakersfield are planning a trip to rubicon as soon as conditions are good.  probably be memorial day or beginning of june sometime.  i'll let you know though if your interested.  oh yea, and we do a local wheeling trip every last saturday or sunday of the month, depending on which works better for the majority.

Does this mean you won't be making the annual trinity lake trip anymore?

Only reason I'd probably make a trip to bakersfield would be the road course, willow springs is it?
