Thanks to Marlin and Big Mike!!!!
« on: Feb 18, 2010, 07:11:59 PM »
I just want to say a big THANK YOU to Marlin and Big Mike for their support at the KOH event this year.  I towed my crawler out to the event this year from AZ in hopes of doing a little wheeling.  The week went well until Friday night when I was preparing to leave.  Apparently a friend of mine mistakenly put 5 gallons of water into my tow rigs gas tank.  I ended up with 21 gallons of fuel and 5 gallons of gas in the tank of a 2009 Tundra 5.7.  With the help of Wyatt Scott, we tracked down Marlin and Big Mike at Hammertown.  Mike took the time to make a phone call to get some suggestions on how to pump the tank empty, then left his party to come assist in getting me back on the road!  I started a new job on Monday and could not afford to be stuck in California, and Mike sensed the urgency.  I have always heard (and actually witnessed one occasion) of stories of how Marlin played to good Samaritan on the trails to help folks out, and I am proud to say I was the recipient of one of those charitable acts.  I have to say that there are folks that just qualify in my book as good people, and both of you are.  I am grateful to both of you for your time and attention when there were so many other things going on in Hammertown.  I am proud to be running your products on my truck, and will forever be a loyal customer of Marlin Crawler!!
Your friend in AZ with the bodyguard (Inside joke for you Marlin),

I would like to send the two of you a token of my appreciation.  A little something to remember us AZ crew by.  I won't take no for an answer, so don't even bring it up.  Thanks again guys!!!!

Yes wheelers look out for each other but Marlin and Big Mike look out for every one and go beyond the call. I am proud to call both my friends. There is no better pair to wheel with or just hang out with.

Always good to hear things like that, now what I want to know is how your friend put water in your tank.

Stupid mistake.  I had set a 5 gallon can of water on the ground next to the Tundra.  Later I asked him to fill the 91 octane into the Tundra since we didn't use it in the crawler.  He assumed that since the "Blue" container was sitting next to the truck, it had to be gas.  I did have a red metal can strapped to the trailer that was 4 feet away which had the 91.  That is why you never ever put anything into blue jugs except water.  He goes to the dunes and watches guys put gas in blue jugs all the time, so he assumed....
