Topic: pismo question.

do you guys have to have a flag on your guys rigs on pismo dunes wheather it be a truck, suv, atv, or whatever.? if so how do you guys mount your flags? i need some ideas. i would appreciate some feedback. thx

I have ran without a flag...yea i think you  have to, but not sure
Its probably a good idea goin up and down all the dunes so someone will see you!

i run without a flag during the day but when the sun goes down i run a flag and i usually use scotch tape

atv's, bikes, and side by sides have to have flags, trucks and suv's are not required to have them but it wouldn't hurt

o ok. someone mentioned to me today that it is now a law at pismo that everyone has to have one.  not sure.

ask as the front gate when you get on the beach. I have never ran a flag on my truck, but it could be a new law now. all other dunes make you run them  on everything, trucks , bikes, atv , side by side, buggies.

Yes there is a new law that requires everything to have a flag.  New years this year was the first time I noticed the sign on the way in, so it must be a pretty recent thing.

Um i just close the tailgate on mine....  most have a threaded end and thats how you mount it.

Dude, run a flag no matter what!! The dunes have crazy drops and weird formations due to the wind (as Im sure you know). I live in San Luis and hear of people dying every year out there. At least the flag provides a bit more visibility, and Im sure someone without a cage would be happy to see a flag before sheetmetal!

Ya but 99% of the deaths are due to ppl being dumbasses, not because they didnt have a flag.  Just sayin.

I always run flags out there, and like previously mentioned there are alot of dumbasses  rollin around. I just use an old flag for my quad and zip tie it to whatever is convenient. Oh and I would run around 10psi with plenty of skinny pedal. Good luck.

Just stop at one of the stores on the 2nd entrance (pier ave.), when you get there.  Theres a few that sell tons of different ones.

Most people in my neck of the woods, use the quick releases for their flags.  Another little trick some use is they run wires up to a light that is taped to the top of the flag or whip antennae for night riding.

you can get flags at clawson honda , wilsons , any ATV / dirt bike shop. or just get one at pismo there sold everywhere. as far as mounting i just close the tail gate on them.
