How 'bout this for the 27th:

http://rockfrogs.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3455&start=0

I wish I could make my club's run to ER on the 27th but it's not going to happen.  Wife just had surgery this week & I need to be around to watch the kids & help around the wife around the house.  Should be a good time!

Thanks!  The Rockfrogs run quite a few trails so just keep checking the trail planning section.

I'm up for this Sunday (the 28th) since Saturday is supposed to be crappy and mid-40s; while Sunday says mid-50s and sunny. Also it'll give me another day to get my idle stuff fixed... I hope.

EDIT::
Got the idle idling again;am back in for Saturday. Yes, I do change my mind too often.

im in loveland and most of my buddys are down at the moment and i just finished fixing my cases so im itchin to go spin my tires if anyone wants to go hit some fire roads that have alot of snow on em

Now that my pile is registered/tagged/legal (thanks, Suz  :smooch: ) we're going to do Mt. Herman over to 315 and drop in to Rampart Range then head into the Springs this weekend; Saturday or Sunday. It'll be a test-tune kind of run; measure for bump stops, check for clearence and all that good stuff.

Weather should be pretty decent too for the whole weekend; if we can hook up with some other rigs we may try Eagle Rock one day.

i am having a gremlin issue i cant figure out plus i cant venture to far from home yet, thanks though

wakkjobb

What's wrong with your rig?

Even though my pile runs decent (minus the high idle) I don't want to tempt fate so I'm planning on trailering it anywhere out of town. Call me scared, call me a sissy but I've been too far from home and had bad things happen... like an engine fire on my 68 Chevy C20 in Effingham, Ilinois for example.

It was not a fun time.

Eagle Rock is still buried in 2-3 feet of snow; no one has gone past the firt right turn after the first hill... myself included. We turned around and tried Mt Baldy but it too is buried under a nice white blanket of axle-grabbing snow.

I did manage to pull out:
Dodge 1500 crew cab
1 gen 4Runner (100000% stock with temp tags)
Mitsubishi Outlander (wait 'til you see the pics  :hahaha: )

And of course I had to get stuck trying the Baldy trail. If anyone still wants to try something off Old Stage on the 10th bring shovels and tow straps/snatch blocks.

Favorite lines of the day....

While pulling out the Chevy today, "Yeah, we came out yesterday, search & rescue picked us up. Then we came back today"
While pulling out the Dodge yesterday, "What color is your truck when it's clean?"
While waiting on the Tundra today, "Yeah, bought it yesterday. Thought it would be fun to take it up Mt Herman in the snow"

Another, while at the parts store:

Counter guy:
"I still have some bugs to work out on my Jeep."

Me thinking:
"They come like that from the factory... that's why I got a Toyota."

Me an' Suz are going to try Eagle Rock again tomorow; maybe enough of the glacier has melted so we can get more than 500 feet past that first turn...

We finally made it past the turn (after getting winched out of a rut). Trail was clear 'til  the next major switchback. Dan mentioned the suckiness of snow and off-camber sliding. Here are some pics, the jeep's wife got out and stood on the drivers side to give it enough weight to not slide off the trail and down the ever so steep hill. They had an awesome "spotter" dog just trotting up ahead of them. Hopefully, next month (if todays rain does not add tons more snow) it will be completely open.

We're going to camp up that-a-way this weekend; if anyone is down we're bringing her Subaru Tribeca and my POS and food/beer so come on up. We'll be there from Thursday afternoon to Sunday/Monday-ish.

My alt is still not charging but I'll bring a spare battery/jumper cables for the weekend. Charging system be damned, I'm going wheeling!!

What's this concept called "Wheeling"?

I still haven't been out all year (last wheeling trip was in Nov.)  I'm stuck working on landscaping my backyard.  I'm close to being done this summer (out of $$$$$) and then I can start working on my 4Runner.  I need to get it ready to go.  I've got a list of 50+ things I'd like to get done before I head out this summer.  The list keeps getting bigger and I am running out of time :(

On a positive note, I did my paint for my 4Runner.  I figured that if I had the paint in hand that I'd actually get around to getting it painted this year.

What color did you end up painting it, that orange you had test-sprayed on the tailgate? I'm contemplating painting my POS before the Jambo... nothing fancy, a trip to WalMart and $50 oughta cover it.   :eyebrow:

This Saturday (July 3rd) QuickDraw, Suz and I are planning to hit up Eagle Rock and Saran Wrap. Meeting place/time is still to be determined. Post up if you can make it!

Well my group is going to be at the trail head at 11.  Should be like 3 additional trucks.  But it was also mentioned that we may meet at the Home Depot at 10.  So how about we do that?

Trail rigs or temp tags?  ;)

Dan and I renamed Mt Herman to "Temp Tag Mtn" back in Feb.

Haha... I think we're looking at 2 IFS Tacos: one locked F/R on 35s, the other locked rear on 33s.  Then I think the other guy has a SFA 1st gen runner on 35s.

We're back, it was a great time! Only breakage was a clutch... and I scratched my slider!  :rivers:  :slap: I'd load pics but photobucket is not cooperating right now. Now I have more confidence for wheeling after almost flopping a time or two.
