I was wondering if someone has installed an SR-5 instrument cluster in a non SR-5 and what kind if headache was it.
My local dealer said it woulden't work without changing the main harness but that would not be cost effective for a company to make different harnesses just for the same truck (+or-) options. I want a tach and a trip odometer. I just hate to spend the
:bling: just to find out he was right  :smack:

Thanx
I love this site it is nice 2 know that I'm not the onlyone thats crazy about a Toyota

A couple of things.  First, if you have a four cylinder, get a four cylinder cluster.  If you have a v6, get a v6 cluster.  I believe the v6 clusters have a six below the tach where you cant see it until you take the front off.  Second, you will need to swap the oil pressure switch for a gauge sending unit.  Other than that, it is a simple swap.  You can use a v6 cluster on a four cylinder, it just takes some work to get the tach to read correctly.  If you don't swap the sender for oil pressure, then your newly aquired oil gauge will peg high when you start the truck, then peg zero once there is oil pressure.

Good luck!

Thanx Uncle Jessie
I hope UR right. Now all I need 2 do is find one 2 fit a 94

i also forgot, make sure you check and see which type of speedometer drive you have, either mechanical or electronic.  That will make a difference as to which cluster you need to get.

I've swapped sr5 clusters in both of my trucks.  They both work.  I unfortunetly got v6 clusters and had to adjust them, but they still work good enough for me!  At any rate, they look a whole lot better than a big friggin tach bolted to the top of the dash.
