L43 Transmission to a W50 transmission

I am wondering if i need to do and modifacitions to my truck which is a 1980 2wd with a L43 to fit an W50 from a 1980 SR5.

A W series trans is 4"s longer then a L series trans so your shifter will be moved back that far.  Imo I wouldnt bother to do that swap.  I would get a hold of a L52 instead.  Same gear ratios and its considered the strongest of the L series trans.
