Being ex-law enforcement I can honestly say I have worked with idiots like this before.
If they were coming to asisst me on a call I would just tell dispatch I was Code4 and cancel them.
I have also worked with people who I would gladly put my life in their hands and vice-versa.

Their were definitely more good ones than bad ones. To all of you who have dealt with the bad ones I apologize.

I had one rule I lived by: Always treat people the way you would want to be treated.

No matter how well you treat someone, their is always someone who is going to beg for a beat down.

So when the day was over, I slept well at night and never ever gave anyone grounds for a use of force lawsuit.

Besides if you sued... all you would end up with is a Jeep  :smack:
Your input here is appreciated, as is your former service. Most of the LEOs I have known or met over the years have been professionals -- some were not, but were good ol' boys that got the job done. I'm glad I have only come across a few bad apples. It's really too bad they exist, because they do tend to give the rest a bad name.

Please don't feel like you should apologize for the rotten apples. It's a noble gesture, but their superiors are the ones who are responsible for them -- they are the ones who should apologize.

Your one rule is a dandy, and it's one that every one of us needs to live by every day.
My goal in life is to be as a good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

If you don't learn something every day, you're not paying attention.

In my area, it is pretty common for a game warden to come along on searches of peoples homes because they "had a tip" that there was illegal game in the freezer, or some B.S. line like that, get in the house then "Holy smokes, do you have a perscription for that? Let me just get my frineds outside in their car. wait right here" All because they are not required to have a warrant to search your stuff. they dont even suspect that you have anything, but they are used to jump through a loop hole.
There is a fine line between clever and stupid, I just wish I knew when I crossed it.
