what front and rear springs are those the front is super high lol

MC 4in f&r

Agreed, a little tall. But with 4 days till he leaves, and 3 till I leave... nothing we can do...

anyone know if a set of MC 4 in springs from like 2004-5 are different than a set form 2009?

Are they broken in? Marlin 4" springs work really good and are super low after they break in. I ran them untouched for a few years and they rode/flexed almost too good. lol

There came off a truck that had probably over 10k miles on them.  The rears have I think 2k ish miles on them.

I think they are either 5in springs, or they are old school, and different than the new ones.

There will be plenty of pics, I should be able to upload them and post here during the week.

I got the sliders built and painted today, tomorrow we weld them to the truck...

I still need to mount the winch and get the exhaust re-routed.

34ish hours till we leave for moab...

the truck is almost ready, just waiting on my front driveshaft, rockymountain driveline is making me a long spline front shaft...

Exhaust is done, rear shocks are mounted
Winch plate is done and winch installed (had to trim the grill)
bed box re-installed
stereo fixed again (P.O. did a horrible job splicing the stock harness back in)

Looks good, dude!  Ahh, waiting on drive shaft right before Moab...brings back a lot of memories.  Yeah, I always wondered if those springs were 5 inchers that were mis-labeled as 4 inchers.  They, were always a little tall, but they had "4 INCH" painted on them when I got them. Have a great time in Moab!

PhantomD aka Zach

KDC! whats up!   I really want to see a set of 4" springs that are not installed yet, I would love to compare them.

When I install the rear e-locker I will be able to measure them unloaded, I would be interested to see how they compare to a new set.

the hardest part about switching to the toyota world from the jeep world is how pansy the engine is, the 4.0 in my jeep was a torque monster, and the 3.0 is NOT! it would be interesting to see if a 4.0 would fit int he engine bay and still have the dual cases, since the trannys are so similar to the jeeps AX-15 it might be possible as long as the engine bay were big enough...

My Girlfriend just picked up my longspline front shaft from rockymountain driveline, and I leave tomorrow morning, and since it just snowed like a foot I will be installing it tomorrow morning before we go.

I will post pictures soon!

Just got back from moab, did not break anything, and the truck did awesome... now for the pics...

The only issues I had were the shocks bottoming out (I have bumpstops I need to install) and half way through the trip my front d-shaft decided it wanted to share space with the front diff flange, they are interfearing now and making a lot of noise... I have to figure out why they decided to do that half way through and not from the beginning.

otherwise another great trip with a lot of good friends...

Nice pictures!  Did you have the front e-locker wired up?  I hope I can go with you guys next year.  I have a Tacoma, now, so I hope to build up the old pick-up later this year...

There was a guy on CO4x4 that did it. However he had to modify the firewall, and he kept the entire jeep drive line (including the d30&35).  However, 10mpg with a 4.0 is enough to make me love my POS 3.0

That's a very good friend of mine's rig.  He used an 87 Toyota truck frame & cab.  He had a clean XJ that he rolled on Fireman's Hill up on Lefthand.  He proceed to put the 4 liter, front clip, XJ suspension, and axles on the Toyota.  The front fenders were crazy custom.  The rear half were Toyota & the front half were XJ.  It looked like an MJ but with a full frame.

He quicked swapped the D30 & D35 out for a set of D44's from a Waggy.  They now live under my brother in law's XJ.  Terry ended up rolling the Xota on the way to Moab a couple of years ago and parted quite a bit of it out.  He ended up just building an XJ to save the crazy custom fab work to make another Jeep-Yota.

I wheeled with Terry & his Xota all around Moab, BV Carnage, Blanca, Chinamans.  It was one of the most capable rigs I've wheeled with.  It climbed almost anything he tried.
