i have 40's on my toy! so no 38's arent too big. But if you have stock axle shafts you will break them with 38's in no time! So upgrading to Longfields is a must. And you need to be more specific with your spring height question. Are you wanting to know what size spring you need to run 38's?
if you dont mind alittle fender trimming than go with 4inch springs if you dont want to trim the fenders than go with 5inch springs
what do you have for inner axles? i had a birfield eliminator kit but they broke whit just 33's. well i think the snow chains did the damage.
Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos. And a beer. If your old enough.
A guy I know tried the tg 30's in his buggy and they dont hold up compared to longs. he broke one, put the spare 30spline long in, then broke the other one the same weekend. He warrantied then sold them, bought longs, no problems since... someone else said they held up fine but they were sloppy as hell after 100 miles of 4wd... I have almost 600 miles on mine longs in 4wd and they are TIGHT!!!!!!! back on track though, 3in lift and 38's is a good combo. to me a yota should never have more than 3in lift, especially with 35's and up... push the front axle 3+ inches forward and get busy with the sawzall
I'm on 39.5" Iroks, stretched wheelbase to 109" and 4" springs. I had to do a ton of trimming in the rear since I extended the WB. I also tubbed the firewall and trimmed the front fenders. My front axle is fully built, 30 splines, Longfield hub gears, ARP knuckle & hub studs. I don't think they are too big, perfect for the type of wheeling I like to do
I have a 84 toy with 5.29 gears. do you think that 38's are to big on a toy? and if not what is a good spring height of leaf spring 4" or 5"?
