I just got some emblems to put on my tailgate ( EFI, SR5, and 4runner ). What is the best adhesive (glue) to use so I can be assured that i wil never lose them?

If you want a glue that will pull your paint off before it comes off go with Gorilla glue. I have used this in the past but I do not like emblems so I have never put any on, I always take them off.

Wow. I love the emblems. Originality. So should I go bare metal behind the emblems for the glue?

Double sided tape works well. It's just a pain to cut around the letters or you can use emblem glue3m makes it.. just letting you know.

You could also get someone to airbrush them custom, which would look really cool...if your into the emblems.

there are some bad ass epoxys out there.  seems like the emblems I pulled off my old s10 had double sided foam tape and that was all that was holding them on.

Thats factory on us cars and trucks. I guess they figured it was easier than making holes for clips.

Gorilla glue works great on anything but it expands as it drys to don't use too much.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

try duct tape lol.

Duct tape can't look any cornier than emblems that don't belong  :_oops:

3M makes double-sided emblem tape.  That is what OEMs use to hold emblems on.  If you bought new emblems, they have the tape already applied.  Nobody on this forum will spend the extra two dollars to buy new parts, so I am assuming we're starting with used emblems.

The right tool for the job is almost always better than a tube of goo, or whatever other method people insist on using.  No point in reinventing the wheel.

I use to use it at work and now at school.

Dosent expand or shrink and will HOLD.
