Tundra 4-link SAS
« on: Nov 21, 2004, 12:34:46 PM »
Judst found this site a couple weeks ago, good source for Toy info. My project is a 2001 Ivan Stewart Tundra with a few twists. I'm currently in the middle of a 4-link SAS conversion using a high pinion D44 from an F250. It will have coil-overs, probably 14" if I can fit them, already has a supercharged V8, headers, 4.88's with lockers, skip plates, rock rails, flipped rear shackles a homemade roof rack, wrap around rear bumper/slider and so forth.
I'm looking for information regarding the 4 link geometry from those who have done it, any one out there?

:welcome: !!

ummmmm...... I dont have any advise for the 4-link, but aren't you extremely :nerv: about the D44 with a Supercharged I-force engine?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thud:

You really need a D60 up there man.

I would never put a stock minitruck front end (same thing as a stock D44) under a V8 (let alone TRD SC).

But Im sorry to flame ya on your project :sad2: but its just that I would hate to see you modify the axle housing of the D44 for the 4-link, just to find out that you break d44 ujoints every weekend and then start all over with a D60 axle housing..

Remember thow its not a stock dana 44 the f250's are 3/4 trucks, 8 lug i think thats what ours is thow but i think it will hold up fine heck if our v10 cant tear it up i dont think the v8 will even with the super charger.
Heck we got a modified 350 small block in my buddys truck puttin out around 400 hp and it hasent broke a birfield yet and its still the toy mini axel's with our own modified and strengthed birfields and its doing great we just finished 3 linking the rear last night and it works sweet, n if you dont think we are hard on stuff we ran a trail we call the bluff here at our local orv park and most people were haveing a hard time with it with 35's locked ft n rear and we were hammering up in in ft wheel drive only with 38 sx's and duel crawlers because the rear high pinion diff crapped out its ring gear teeth so we made it all the way up,exseptfor a 4 ft ledge that we couldent bounce the rear tires over cuse the front were spinning on wet rock. im not giveing glory too the toy birfields but them suckers shure took a beating that night and are still going strong. we are going out tonight and tomarrow ill tell ya how well they hold up after tonight.
good luck with ur swap.

If you didn't make it, and it ain't broke, you didn't try hard enough.
