Leaf Spring Removal
« on: Jan 01, 2010, 06:46:19 AM »
I've been working on getting my front (stock) leafs out of my 80 pickup to replace the bushings. I was able to remove the bolt at the rear of the leaf, but i can't get the 2 front bolts to come off. I've removed the 2 small captive bolts on the mounting plate, but then i can't remove the center pin. Does it need to be beat and hammered out? :_order:

They're also flat on a couple spots so you can get a wrench on it to turn it.  I turned it with a wrench and put the nut back on and tapped and turned several times and it came right out.
