'88 4runner body to '94 Pickup frame...
« on: Dec 31, 2009, 08:32:30 AM »
I am getting a free '88 4runner body tub to swap to my nicely built '94 pickup before I start my 3RZ swap. I know I willl be fooling with or swaping the gas tank, but will I be relocating just some or all of the body mounts?  Seems like the front few should be the same but I don't know...

Im not sure either, you can just make some mounts as you go. Are you interested in selling the harness and ECU out of the 88 runner? Shoot me a PM if you are. I will be next to my laptop till 1:00pm today, after that im heading to the Hammers for the weekend.  :camping:   :driving:

I might use most the harness or I might end up using the Tacoma harness for the 3RZ I'm not really sure yet.   It will be a while untill I figure that out.  If I end up with the ECU from the '88 I'm sure I could at least sell you that.

4runner frames have the same dimensions as a standard cab short box, you'll just have to move all the body mounts from the b-pillar back.

the gas tank is mounted 3" lower on the 4runner also..

all i want is a little more than i'll ever get!!

Thanks that really clears things up for me.  I have the same problem.  2 boys, a dog and a wife who love wheeling and a two seater truck left over from free and easy days...
