Gear Transfer Case Input Oil Seal?
« on: Dec 27, 2009, 09:54:31 AM »
Hi,

Should there be an oil seal on the input to a geared transfer case? Or does the output housing on the transmission seal it?
It's just I can see a bear bearing looking into the tcase.

Cheers,

Michael

there is no seal on the tcase input. both it and the low speed (reduction) shaft are open to the front.
