the po did the swap, but then he couldn't get it running, so i took it off his hands and fixed it all up. ended up being the wiring. i had to go through and check his work. so if you have a question i might be able to help. i know that the donor vehicle was an 86 runner.

oh right on. yeah thats one thing i am scared of is the wiring. and the fuel tank. but my donor is an 89. but for sure thanks i will probly ask you some things

i have a question for you guys or anyone who has done the swap.
so i heard from someone that a 2wd 4cyl gas tank with a fuel pump
would bolt right in to where my old one did. i have the tank with fuel
pump from the runner but of course it is bigger so if it is true about
the 2wd tank can someone please tell me thanks.

The two wheel drive short bed tank from a 91 was a direct bolt in for me.

hey so i found a tank out of a 92 reg cab short bed 4cyl. that is the same tank that you got right?
hopefully this is it. they want like 75 for just the tank and another 50-75 for the fuel pump and hanger.

around here they go for like 50 for everything but 75 for everything would be reasonable if they want that much you might as well go with a fuel cell.

see i considered a fuel cell. but then the thought of just bolting it in in the stock location and running it sounded way better to me. to due lack of time and money for the fuel cell. The place that has it and gave me those prices and is in rancho, ca. Im about an hour or so away from there. i have the tank and pump from the runner but it too big and i thought about mounting it in the bed but then i would have to get a new line made and all that and more fab work plus less space in my already bobbed bed so. it might be worth it if i can get the tank and pump for a 100.

yeah man for sure I mean I guess im just into my fuel cell pretty cheap still haven't put it in yet but I dunno id look around for trucks beng parted out or try junk yards cause that seems a little steep expecially for the drive but i dunno

i know for sure. im just broke and the prices were from a pick n pull place in rancho. so im prob going to end up going down there and getting that. i see so many 2wd pickups all over the place but cant find one being parted out or anything.

for now rears up front with a few other sets mixed in
and 5 inch marlins out back

hopefully swapping out the rears for some f150s soon.
5's are way too high for me

anyways found gas tank with hanger and pump and all that for 100.
cant find it any cheaper so im going to pick that up this weekend and
try and finish the truck up. motor is in. engine bay like half back together
and cab is all painted and ready to be put back together.
dont have any pics tho..

have you thought of using 63 chevy rears? im also working on a build and everyone who i have spoke to is saying thats the way to go

yeah i have thought about chevies, i had a set ready for my truck originally.
then i bobbed it 13 inches and now my shackle just with marlins is as far back on the frame as it could go, so there is no way i can run chevies now, way too long for my truck. but they work great so go for it!

i did the same thing. i bobbed my 83 short bed all the way to the shackle mounts now i cant run 63s

so i got my new fuel tank today.
but im so stressed right now and really need help.
after going on mitchell at my rop which is a joke,
going to a friend who has a better program of mitchell,
i am yet to find the right wiries diagrams.
ths is what i need a diagram for both the 83 harness
and the 89 harness for the steering columns so that
i can cut and splice all those wires for the ignition and etc.
then i need the diagram for the gauge clustes so that i can
use the stock cluster out of my 83.
if someone has done this or can give me any advice pleae help.
im trying to find anything that will tell me what color wire i need
to go to witch. please if someone could help me that be awesome
