I am starting this weekend.
i am going to go get the runner tomorrow and bring to to my house and start this weekend and go form there i am off of school for two weeks so hopefully i can get this thing done and be ready for the snow.
I just went by kragen, my old ROP jobsite, Im finding a different place for next semester. Anyways a fel-pro gasket kit for the 22re, which comes with just about everything is 108.99 plus my discount. So the plans are to get the motor pulled and fresh her up a little bit with new gaskets and maybe a rebuilt head i might get in a trade.
Anyways after the motor swap the next plans are 5in marlin rears
marlin 6in shackles in back, drop box, front shock mounts and so on.
oh yeah while im doing the motor swap im putting in a w56 and dual cases
should be sweet

whats up
started my motor swap lastnight at about 8
mostly started so soon because i was driving home yesterday on the highway doin about 65 and then just lost everything i thought my tranny just popped out of gear but there was nothing. think it was my clutch. but im over it so i started pullin my motor lasnight after i got my truck home..
started at 830 and it was out by 1040 with no cut wires or hoses.
and by the way i forgot to mention im 17 a senior in highschool and this is my DD and only transportation
and i pay for everything on my truck
heres some pics for proof i did something...

Engine bay with wiring harness still...

Started tearing apart the cab at 9 this morning

Then i got a little bored with all the hard work and whipped up some half doors really quick. they arent done yet i just wanted to see if i like that design

and dont worry the steering colun,m is just hanging there it not really that low

then i got back to work and got the dash all out and the wiring harness completely out

The swap is easily doable w/ the dash in place still. Give you props for taking on the challenge...it will be nice. Be sure to take your time and don't half ass anything. When its all said and done and works right..you'll be happy
Im an OG

skinneykansas

Ive been looking everywhere and i cant find anything about the wiring and fuel lines and gas tank for the 22re swap. all i can find is info on making a 22r head efi. can someone please help me out here

just got the donor truck to my house. start on it tomorrow.
Oh and a d60 for the rear.

I wouldnt waste your time with a 60 for the rear... there a dime a dozen and I wouldnt say not much stronger than a toyota just because I don't know but I RALLY mine with chromo rear shafts and never have a problem ever. The 60 is just bigger heavier and less clearance.

As far as the swap goes good deal dude, RE's are the way to go for wheelin.

I highly doubt you could pull the wiring harness with the dash in place..
but yeah ive heard both about the 60 and 14b but i got the 60 for a smokin deal
im lookin for a 60 for the front right now.
and prob selling my toyota axles if anyone wants them
and it was pooring rain all day so i didnt get to tear into the runner and start pulling the 22re.
plus sleeping seemed a lot better.
updates tomorrow.

Do you plan on going bigger tirewise soon? a 60 and a 14 seems way overkill for 35" tires.

dude if your broke don't even waste your time with 60s. Im doing the swap right now and the truck next to mine in my shop is being finished with the swap there stupid expensive if you do them right. I wouldn't waste the time untill you start to have problems with your toy axles. people run 4ds on toy axles with less money than you would be into the swap for the tons. thats just me though.

now that I have said the bad I mean don't get me wrong 1 tons are sick and worth it in the end but really kinda not worth it since there are long fields and what not I just want them more for the fabrication part I was bored lol.

But its look good for sure.
