I saw two trucks get stuck in the snow, they had to call a tow company. Driver said it was gonna cost them at least 600 bucks. I paid 550 for my warn m8000.....

I'll remember to call a few different tow companies to see who has the best price next time i'm stuck on jackhammer...

I have had 2 warn 9.5ti and they have been great, they cost alot more than they used too though. My first i bought 2 years ago for 750 shipped and the once i bought last year was like 900 and now they are over 1k. Warn has raised their prices since they sold the axle division.

Like Splashed said!!   I have a Warn 8274!   It's a real winch!  Fast and strong!  Can't beat em in my opinion!!

My 4runner came with an old school Warn winch (no idea the series or model number, its inside my bumper) and its at least 15 years old, probably much older and still works like a charm. I vote Warn.

My winch is a Warn 8274 made in 89 I believe and it works like new.  My buddy had a Warn M8000 on his 4runner never missed a beat.  Never heard of anyone that was ever disappointed with a Warn.

Warn 8274

they can be a royal pain to get mounted where it isn't sticking out 2 feet but non-stop work horse.

mine is recessed, cut the hood etc but it is a lot better than previous.

Keep your eyes peeled, they can be found for as little as 200-500 used.

sorry for the picts was a haloween run....

Sorry for the thread jack but where did you get those headlights in the last picture?  Are they better than stock ones as far as brightness?

Headlights are steal-bay. As for brightness no brighter than stock but the angel eyes are kind of  sweet. Wanted to go more 1st gen like so did the lights. Have a set of 1st gen fenders I am planning on mounting up as well.

T-max are ok, but they have chronic controller issues. Better to get the harbor freight special.
S     L     O     W but they will pull. Smittybuilt has been doing well with theirs as well.

I have a mile marker and im very unimpressed with them.  Poor design and technical support.  will never buy another one.

gwbaker

here is the winch that me and my brother run and we both love em, havent used them alot but for the price I couldnt ask for anything better.... http://www.promarkoffroad.com/truck-jeep-winches/10000lb-recovery-winches/promark-10000lb-midnight-series-electric-recovery-winch.html

my opinion get the m8000 low profile, reliable and can be found on craigs list relatively easily, look daily and when you see it listed be ready to roll on it . that is if you don't mind a used one
it's not me, it's you

those look like good winches. thanks for the link gwbaker

:headscratch:  Hmmm.  I have the 8000lb with synthetic line.

My truck is not that heavy compared to most, but I keep pulling out bigger vehicles.   My truck is not in this pic, but i'm winching my Buddy (Blackdog :gap:) out of sup bowl without any problems.

Here it is in all it's glory.

Thanks for the info guys. I wish it was easier to find the biggest bang for your buck as far as a winch. I'm still not sure what I am going to get. I have been wheeling for years but never owned a winch.
