Anybody been in the CCC?

I've always loved the outdoors and chose this as my way to get a good start in forestry. I went today my interview this morning and was immediately offered a Corps member position at the Greenwood Center. I leave for testing on Sunday and if all goes well (which it should) I will begin the COMET training program. During my spare time I am hoping to be able to volunteer with Eldorado County search an rescue. I'm hoping to get some good experience from this.

Anybody else gone through the California Conservation Corps? Any stories?
